Everyone knows about it, the largest tech company in the world, so large in fact that it has a market value of $3 trillion, a number larger than the UK's GDP.


You probably use an iPhone, Macbook or you know someone who uses them, despite the hefty price of their products, Apple has managed to attract 49% of all US smartphone users, to put it into perspective, that number is 120 million, a number almost the size of the entire population of Japan.


Now, I could go on about how massive the company is, but I think you get the point, it is big and extremely popular.


But there are some things that are not widely known, like did you know that Apple's first logo featured Issac Newton, or that the Macbook Pro can stop a bullet? Today we dive deep into the company and look at some fascinating facts about Apple.


Apple's Co-Founder sold his share in the company for $800


One of Apple's lesser known co-founders, Ronald Wayne, had a share of 10% in company which he sold back to his co-founders, Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak for $800, a share which would be worth a mind-boggling $75 billion in today's money. Which would have made him one of the richest people on earth, and funnily enough, he doesn't regret his decision.


Steve Wozniak sold his scientific calculator in order to raise funds for Apple


In the early days, Jobs and Wozniak sold some of their personal belongings in order to fund the company, one of them being Wozniak's HP-65 scientific calculator, which he sold for $500. While Jobs sold his Volkswagen van for $800.


iPhone commercials always display the time 9:41 AM


If you have watched quite a lot of iPhone ads, you may have noticed that the time shown on the display is always set at 9:41 AM, this is because it was the time when Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone in 2007.


Apple has a no smoking ban on their computers


I know, it sounds ridiculous but it's true, if you smoke while using a computer, you void Apple's warranty. So be careful around your computer.
